Log Cabin

The Log Cabin is our home base for activities that take place within Washington Park.  The cabin has a fireplace but no HVAC, be sure to dress for the weather.  A public portable toilet is located approximately 50 feet away from the entrance of the cabin.  Paved parking is available next to the playground across from the cabin.

ADA considerations: uneven ground, narrow doorways, no HVAC, no interior restroom, no access to running water.

Birding in the park

WashPark Birds is a beginner-friendly bird identification application for Washington Park. With the application, you can explore to see the many types of birds that visit Washington park!

Special thanks and credit to Dr. Sayre Greenfield, Professor of English, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, and Lauren Conkle who created the document "Washington Park Birds: Washington, Pennsylvania A Checklist of Birds and their Seasonal Abundance" that provided the foundation for our dataset for the app.
