Drew's Closet was created in honor of Drew Ross Manko, a dear friend of the WPO family who passed in 2025. Drew was a 2013 graduate of Washington High School, and a lifelong farmer and Boy Scout. Drew’s presence was most felt in the local community where he worked tirelessly to promote Washington County and the field of Agriculture. Drew helped to found The Running of The Wools, a two-day event in Downtown Washington, celebrating the strong historic and cultural significance of the wool industry in the county. He and his partner Riley founded the monthly Market in the (Washington) Park, a Farmers Market for vendors just getting their businesses off the ground. Drew was a guest on “Laid Back History” with Clay Kilgore and was a historian all of his life. Over his short lifetime, he received multiple awards, but was most proud of his Eagle Scout and 2023 Northrop Occupational Excellence Award from the Washington Rotary, received for his work advocating for young farmers, eating local and promoting farm fresh foods. It seems fitting that efforts to ensure families are warm from head to toe on our trails are dedicated to Farmer Drew, our beloved fiber farmer and community organizer. We miss you, bud.
