What is a community garden?
A community garden is a shared space where members of a community come together to grow fruits, vegetables, and more.
Why Should You Care?
Community gardens offer numerous benefits, including access to fresh and healthy produce, even in urban environments where green sources are scarce. These gardens promote sustainable practices, helping to reduce food miles and carbon footprints while fostering a deeper connection to nature, community, and creating healthier eating habits. These gardens also promote community building and trust, helping to prevent domestic violence before it has the opportunity to occur by fostering a safe and healthy community.
How To Get Started?
There are three different kinds of community gardens:
You can buy a personal plot of land to plant whatever you want, however you want to!
If you want to take home some produce, you need to help out first!
Just come in and take whatever you want! These gardens are available to anyone!
